ErgoArmMeter 3
ErgoArmMeter is a professional inclinometer for measuringandrecording arm elevation during work. It is shown by researchthatwork with elevated arm may lead to shoulder/neckdisorders.Ergonomists have been using inclinometers to measure armelevation, which have a better precision compared to self-reportsandobservations of arm elevation. With ErgoArmMeter, armelevationduring work time can be measured easily and with lowcost.ErgoArmMeter is validated that it has similar accuracycompared toother former validated inclinometers. How to use (alsoaccessiblein the app): Attach the phone using a sport armband onthe upperarm, with the upper edge just below the deltoid muscle, then: 1.Start a measurement by clicking “+”, fill in a project nameand arecording number and “Save icon” the trial. 2. Conductcalibrationby leaning to the side, holding some weight (e.g. a 2 kgdumbbell)with a straight-arm, and click “Calibrate”, keep theposture for 2seconds. 3. Click “Start” to start the measurement, time is shown, and the arm elevation angle is recorded. 4. Press“Stop” to end themeasurement. To view the results, click on thetrial name in thetrial list. 5. Click “Share” to send the resultsand the whole dataset via email. Notice: Since ErgoArmMeter usesaccelerometer andgyroscope in the phone, it requires the phoneremain unlocked tostay functioning. It is recommended that youchange “Auto-Lock”function in your phone, via“Settings-General-AutoLock-Never”, andthen use the phone to measurearm elevation as long as you need.ErgoArmMeter is designed be usedin evaluating workplace before andafter interventions. It can alsobe used for educational purpose.Together with other informationabout the work task, it can addvaluable information for riskassessments of a certain worktask.https://ki.se/en/imm/ergoarmmeterhttps://www.suntarbetsliv.se/forskning/fysisk-arbetsmiljo/sa-mater-du-armbelastning-med-mobilen/
